Hi, I am facing a problem with my diamond, and I am curious if anyone else has faced this problem. When I am attending a call, I like to be able to access other features, like sms, contacts, notes, documents etc. And my husband's HTC Touch lets him do that soooo easily. But my backlight keeps going off, more than that, the touch feature gets turned off, and I have to either insert/remove the stylus, or I have to press the power button to get the control back on my screen before I can proceed. And that too lasts for barely 5-10 seconds, and I have to repeat this everytime, throughout the call... Has anyone else faced this problem, else I need to talk to my retailer about this... Also, the speaker volume is really low isn't it? Especially compared to Nokia phones, tho the HTC touch is also soooo much better!!! Appreciate any help on this guys... Shefali.

I have found that when a computer won't turn on, it is usually because of a bad cpu or motherboard. If you want to tackle replacing your motherboard, check out http://www.geeks.com for low priced cpu/motherboards/repair kits/bare-bone systems. Remember to keep yourself grounded, as many components are very sensitive to static electricity. And remember that wrist straps which ground you to the computer case only work if the case itself is grounded (plugged into the wall). You also have to make sure that all of your components and connectors will fit the new motherboard. Check out http://computershopper.com/howto/replace-your-motherboard-200707 for a good discussion of issues related to motherboard replacement. Ideally, just take your computer to a local computer repair shop. Their work is warrantied and it would be a lot faster. Plus, they should be able to diagnose exactly what the problem is.

GaryAllen on "XP Restore Crashes in start up"

I recently had a new install of XP. Yeserday Yahoo Messenger shut down unexpectedly. Now it crashes after giving a notice of plugin bar needing to be licked to readd plugins. I restarted the computer several tims to see if it would self correct. It did not. I tried to a Restore but the same thing happens there. I did a disk scan and it indicates some drivers might be missing, insert the XP disk. Then I am told that disk older than the version installed. What can I do to fix this problem without another install? Thanks for any suggestions.
