More than 12,000 zombies were harmed in the making of this review. Left 4 Dead 2 (above) takes up immediately where its splatter-schlock original left off -- a desperate struggle to survive the undead hordes overrunning small-town America.Built around four-man co-op, L4D2 can be played alone with three AI buddies. But it really shines when you hook up online with three other live players. Structurally similar to the first game, in that you work to cover each other as the hordes of fast-moving zombies flood from every direction, L4D2 amps up the gory action. More laughs, different enemies, smarter level design, extra modes and better weapons compete to produce an intense shooter that sets the heart pounding.RATING: 9/10Rabbids Go Home, WiiNo cute bunnies here, these are the creatures formerly known as the raving rabbids (below). Instead of a series of delightfully daft mini-games, as featured in their previous outings, the rabbids want to climb to the moon by collecting trash in a giant pile. Deliberately nonsensical and anarchic, Go Home applies a dab of Katamari's kleptomania mixed with a dash of Mario Kart as the rabbids career around malls and airports in a shopping trolley. Sly digs at consumerism and heaps of visual gags can't hide the repetitive nature of the gameplay but it's hard to resist the rabbids' brand of lunacy.RATING: 8/10Avatar: The Game, PS3/X360James Cameron spent 12 years and more than $200m bringing his epic CGI tale to the big screen. Rather less was spent on the game (above).Shadowing the movie plot of a brutal human force conquering a peace-loving alien planet, it resembles a typical film-game tie-in, cherrypicking elements and mashing them together.Lush landscapes and dazzling creatures help distract from what is a competent but uninspired shooter. True, by letting you choose to play the good guys as well as the bad, the makers effectively give you two games in one. As tie-ins go, it's not a bad stocking-filler this Christmas but the overriding impression is faint disappointment.RATING: 7/10
